Aberdeenshire childcare services winter update
In October we arranged a trip to parliament for a group of young people with additional support needs we work with in the Stonehaven area. The young people asked to visit parliament after they had a visit from Inclusion Scotland in the summer holidays.
Inclusion Scotland approached us to ask if it would be possible to speak to the group about their rights and during the discussion one of the young people asked if we could visit parliament to ask what is our rights as a person with additional support needs and the other teenagers also agreed to the visit.
We wanted to grant the wishes of group so we got in contact with our MSP in the Stonehaven to explain about our group and what they would like to do and they kindly arranged a tour of parliament for the young people. The staff at parliament were very helpful and kind to the young people and answered all the questions they had. We travelled down by mini bus and stopped in Dundee on the way home for our tea. Everyone had a lovely day.
