101 Project (formerly Dundee Project) We operate an advice & information service, a contact centre and support groups for one parent families in different areas of the city. We also distribute toys and children’s clothing, arrange outings and holidays and provide training in crèche work. The 101 project (formerly Dundee project) has been in existence since 1984. Based in the Whitfield area of Dundee, the project offers a city wide service. A referral system has been introduced including a referral form and guidance. Main Areas of Project Work
Working For Families - lone parent and young parent support workersThis is aimed particularly at parents who wish to enter education, training or employment or other activities in pursuit of these e.g. volunteering, attending a group, etc.
First Steps Contact Centre - for separated familiesThis service provides a welcoming neutral place where children can meet with their non-residential parent and others who are important to them. First Steps provides "supported contact", not supervised. This means that we facilitate the contact sessions in a child centred way, at the child's pace not the adults. Workers and volunteers are available if needed, to work with families to help establish relationships by supporting parents and children through change and promoting suitable play activities. Referrals can be made by the courts, solicitors, agencies and the families themselves. To maintain our neutrality, we do not supply information regarding contact to any agency or provide reports to court. Liaison with Family Mediation and Social work will continue in relation to the deliverance of contact services across the city. HelplineThe 101 Project participates in the delivery of the national lone parent telephone helpline. HoursThe project is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am - 4.00pm. (Closed to the public on Thursdays.) Contact 101 Project Personnel Project Co-ordinator: Kim McRae
