We help lone fathers to take part in a range of sport and other activities with their young children, as well as offering advice and support though the OPFS information service.

The project continues to attract dads and their children who take advantage of the free, fun trips on Saturdays. We've already visited Deep Sea World, MegaBowl, Beecraigs Country Park, Dynamic Earth, Yellowcraigs Beach and loads more.

In addition there are drop-in sessions at Gilmerton Children's Centre (0131 664 1202) on Tuesday afternoons and at OPFS offices (0131 556 3899) on Thursday mornings. These sessions offer advice, support and information.

The lone fathers group has already established links with a similar project in North Edinburgh and should like to develop joint work with children's centres as well as other statutory and voluntary bodies in areas of Edinburgh which do not at present benefit from lone fathers support projects.

This is a joint venture between OPFS and Gilmerton Children's Centre with funding from Sure Start.
