Pen Pals Scheme

Find a Pen Pal

  • Being a lone parent can be very isolating, and all the evidence shows that if you have supportive friends and or family you are likely to be happier.
  • But it can be hard finding people you feel you want to talk to, that you have something in common with, especially when everyone else seems to have lots of friends... so that's why we've started up a PenPal scheme.
  • Recent surveys show that up to 60% of lone parents are looking for friends, so there are lots and lots of possible friends out there for you!

Would you like to meet lone parents in a similar situation to yourself?

  • Maybe you are new to the area?
  • Perhaps you don't have any family living nearby.
  • Maybe you have just become a lone parent.

Whatever the reason, there are lots of lone parents out there just like you who would like to make some new friends.

Safety First

  • Always meet in a public place first time round.
  • Exchange phone numbers before meeting up.
  • Don't give out personal details, unless you feel comfortable about doing so.
  • Let a friend or relative know when and where you're meeting your PenPal.

As always, use basic common sense...

Remember this is not a dating agency and OPFS take no responsibility for vetting PenPal's.

Start today!

Open the form and fill it in. You can either send it via email or print it out and return it to the office. We'll put you in touch with any other parents who seem appropriate.
