One Parent Families Scotland welcomes volunteers, either on a short or long term basis. We have benefited from the skills of students, work placements, individual lone parents and interested members of the public.

The valuable work they have carried out has included database, library maintenance, press cuttings, membership, researching and writing of fact sheets, press interviews and reception duties. We try to provide a volunteering experience that will match a volunteer's interests and give them an opportunity to expand their talents.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us in our Edinburgh office with a variety of tasks. We would particularly like people with administrative experience and good IT skills. We are a friendly office and travel expenses would be paid.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help out at the OPFS Dundee Contact Centre on Saturdays. The Contact Centre runs between the hours of 10am - 2pm on Saturdays, but the opportunity is very flexible and hours can be adjusted within these times to suit the individual.

The opportunity involves welcoming families to the centre, and assisting parents to build up good relationships with their children, sometimes involving play activities with the families, etc.

The Contact Centre is a welcoming and neutral place where (non-residential) parents/carers can meet with their children, and be encouraged to develop a good relationship with their children.
