Updated for 2015, this course is aimed at professionals working with single parent families who want to understand how universal credit will affect their clients. Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith announced that there will be an accelerated rollout of universal credit to all Jobcentres and local authorities across the country from early 2015.
The course covers:
- The application process
- Timetable for introduction
- The individual elements that make up universal credit
- How the calculation works
- Sanctions and hardship payments
No previous benefit knowledge is required.
This course costs £25 per person. The course will take place at One Parent Families Scotland, 13 Gayfield Square, Edinburgh EH1 3NX, and last three hours.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. No refund can be given if the cancellation is made within 14 days (10 working days) of the course taking place. A 25% charge will made if the cancellation takes place prior to this. A substitute may be made but notification of this should be sent to email@example.com.
