Barclaycard Horizons programme

This was a return to work programme, sponsored by Barclaycard, for lone parents living in Glasgow. Please note this programme is not currently running.

It offers:

Three days of pre-employment training.
A 2 week, post-training work experience.

The timings of these fit within school hours.

On completion of the work placement the programme participants have:

More confidence
Gained practical experience
Received information and support

Preparing For the Future Workshops For Lone Parents
Wednesdays: 15th and 29th February 2012, 14th and 28th March 2012

These workshops aim to support lone parents living within Glasgow to take up employment. They aim to enable participants to identify their skills and talents, promote good interview practice and set clear action plans leading to their transition into employment. Horizons Hubs (Posted on 3rd October 2011)

Horizons Hubs offer specialist advice, support and training to lone parents across Glasgow. Lone Parent Advisors provide advice and support on welfare benefits, child maintenance, debt and managing your money.

Horizons Trainers deliver confidence building courses as well as supporting parents to look at options and choices in employment, training, education or volunteering. We also hold legal advice surgeries (family law). OPFS supports lone parents to prepare for the future and to give lone parents a voice.
