Family support services

The OPFS Teen Parent Peer Mentoring Service has been set up by Choices (One Parent Families West of Scotland) in partnership with North Lanarkshire Early Years and Childcare.

Statistics show 15% of all Scottish teenage pregnancies are in North Lanarkshire. One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS) undertook research in local nurseries in North Lanarkshire to identify the barriers and issues faced by lone parents in the area.

The Family Centre is a project of One Parent Families Scotland supporting lone parent families, contact parents and all families experiencing transitions and works with children and families across the whole of the Braes area in Falkirk.

We are a service partner of Falkirk Council Education Services and we work closely with parents/carers, social work, health and other voluntary and statutory organisations.

We are regulated by the Care Commission and all staff are registered with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council).

The Dads Club helps lone fathers to take part in a range of sport and other activities with their young children, as well as offering advice and support though the OPFS information service.

A project delivering support and services to families who currently have fragmented services or none at all.

The 101 Project in Dundee offers both 1 to 1 and group based support to parents across the city. The wellbeing of children is at the heart of our work and we know that happier parents mean happier children. We are aware that at times parents may require support to meet all of their children’s needs. Many parents can feel isolated, overwhelmed and undervalued. Our aim is to work with these parents to improve the wellbeing of the whole family.
