This report collates the findings of a series of focus groups and telephone interviews with young parents undertaken in May 2005. One Parent Families Scotland and the Edinburgh Childcare Information Service at the City of Edinburgh Council commissioned the report to find out about childcare that young parents use, when they need to use it, who provides it and how they find out about childcare in their area. The report also looks at paying for childcare, knowledge of Child Tax Credits and services that young parents would like to be able to access from their local Childcare Information Service.

The information has been used to influence future service provision and service promotion within the City of Edinburgh.
