Press Release:
Community Fund Provides Funding for Supporting Lone Parents in Dundee

Posted: 13.10.2003
Immediate Release

The charity One Parent Families Scotland has been awarded £59,877 from the Community Fund to develop the skills of lone parents in Dundee.

The funding will also be used to develop additional support for lone parents, particularly in Charleston, Hilltown and Stobswell, in partnership with local agencies. There will be a particular focus on the needs of lone fathers, young lone parents and lone parents affected by ill-health or disability.

Commenting on the project, One Parent Families Scotland Director, Sue Robertson said:

"One Parent Families Scotland already offer services to lone parents in Dundee through our project based in Whitfeld. These include information and advice, a contact centre, support groups and a sitter service. This funding enables us to expand our services and ensure that even more lone parents receive the help that they need."

One Parent Families Scotland plans to work with community groups and agencies in Dundee and would happy to hear from anyone who wants to become involved with this project.
