Making employment a sustainable route out of poverty

In February 2010 the Joseph Rowntree Foundation published a paper:" Cycles of Poverty, unemployment and low pay" by Chris Goulden.

Report on Seminar about services for young parents held January 2009

In February 2010 we published the report "Young Parents: A Better Start - an integrated approach to policy and practice". This is based on the seminar which we held jointly with Aberlour in January 2009, funded by a grant from Parenting Across Scotland. It will be of interest to all agencies working with young parents.

Lone parent families with young children: Findings from the Growing Up in Scotland study (2009)

This report was produced by the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships, with input from One Parent Families Scotland. GUS finds that children living in lone parent households are more likely to experience disadvantage during their early years. However, it is clear that many lone parents are doing the best they can for their children in the face of great difficulties.
