CFSP staff set to host family hogmanay event
Its official – Dundee Community Family Support Project staff will be hosting a local family celebration event on Hogmany afternoon for parents and children who attend the local Laughter Clubs.
To kick off the Fintry Families Hootsman Hogmany, a piper will lead a family march to lay poppies and listen to a Burns recital before breaking into verse with Auld Lang Syne. We’ll then return to the local lounge of the Powrie bar where we’ll all have a warming traditional buffet.
The afternoon will be devoted to a family quiz, family dominos, storytelling, Scottish country dancing, and finally a practice family countdown and toast to the New Year.
To round the day off we’ll be giving every family being a steak pie, tatties and brussel sprouts for New Years day.
The event brings together the best traditions of Scottish hospitality with the social justice aims of One Parent Families Scotland and means that we can help some families begin 2015 on a positive note.
