Getting out in the garden with Families House (Dundee)

Families House in Dundee have been busy in the garden this summer.

The Families House gardenFamilies House Gardening Group looks to enhance community links, give children a sense of belonging, and help children understand the concept of looking after things. It recently secured some funding from the Dundee Partnership.

We’ve got children and families involved in preparing fruit and vegetables and planting flowers in their garden. Many volunteers have been coming along with groups of children and our local primary school group for children with additional needs have been enjoying visits to our garden.

We’ve been running other classes this summer, such as wildlife listening, nature awareness sessions and we’ve just finished a Mud Kitchen for the children to enjoy some “creative fun” in.
