Dundee parents help develop a new international learning programme
Our thanks and congratulations go out to five single parents, from our 101 Project in Dundee, who volunteered to be pilot participants on our New Horizons blended learning programme. They all received a certificate of appreciation in recognition for their contributions.
The parents tested learning materials and provided important feedback to help shape the final programme’s presentation. Participation included group learning sessions at our 101 Project and home-based online learning activities.
Thanks go to the parents for their openness, insight and commitment. The pilot was not without its challenges, but all parents are keen to continue learning and to develop their potential for the future.
One participant said, “I now feel a lot more confident … I got really in to it, I really enjoyed it and enjoyed being with other parents. I felt comfortable about being able to talk about things”. This participant is now undertaking more online courses at home and has just completed a college application.
The 101 Project team held a celebratory event to mark the parents’ achievements and say congratulations and thank you. We look forward to further supporting the parents on their continuing journey.
