  • Having a baby

    This advice guide covers benefits and other income you may be entitled to when you’re pregnant or just had a baby, your rights to take time off and return to work and sources of other practical and financial help.

  • Universal Credit

    This advice guide (updated April 2019) contains information on universal credit, introduced in October 2013 to replace six of the main income related benefits currently in use.

  • Your income when a child is 16+

    This is a guide for single parents whose children are aged 16 -19 years old. It explains how income from benefits and tax credits and child maintenance will change depending on your child’s decisions about their education, training or work.
