Elaine C Smith backs ‘Twelve Weans of Christmas’ Appeal
Elaine C Smith, Scotland’s top comedian has given her backing to an important Christmas Appeal. One Parent Families Scotland “Twelve Weans of Christmas” Appeal aims to ensure children in single parent families have toys, food and warm clothing over the Christmas period. Elaine C Smith said today:
“No child should have to go without this Christmas. Sadly some children won’t get any presents on Christmas Day because their family is facing a difficult time, that’s why I’m supporting this important appeal to try and help. I know the campaign has been running for several years and is an incredible success. People have been very generous, and I urge those who can afford it to contribute this year. To think that some children wake up on Christmas Day without a gift or a proper meal in 2017 is unimaginable. We want to change that.”
We are hoping that you could possibly help us with donations of toys and /or warm clothing for children 0-16 years (please note that due to Health & Safety we can only accept toys that are new and in packaging).
We also distribute food parcels to families in need to make sure that children have hot meals over the festive period when school meals are not available. For this we would welcome any non-perishable food donations and toiletries. We are hoping to distribute all gifts and food on the week beginning 11th December.
