Could you be a Lone Parent Champion?

Could you be a Lone Parent Champion?

There’s a new and exciting training opportunity being introduced through One Parent Families Scotland in Glasgow.

Lone Parent Champion Training

We’re looking to recruit 12 local single parent volunteers to get involved in our Lone Parent Champion training, this is a 3-week course (2 days per week from 10am-2pm) aimed at empowering individuals to champion the rights of single parents regarding the changes to the benefit system and welfare reform.

On completion of the course, we’ll continue to work with you and support our volunteers to take this role further.

For example, it could be that you:

  • get involved in OPFS group-work sessions
  • start up your own support group
  • provide one to one support to other parents
  • be the voice of single parents on a committee by talking about your personal experiences.

This is a new training opportunity and the time will be spent to suit your strengths and interests.

If you would like to find out more about attending the course, please get in touch and we can meet for a chat to discuss this role in more detail.
