Inquiry into attainment and achievement of school aged children experiencing poverty

The Scottish Parliament Education & Skills Committee is holding an inquiry (May 2018) on the impact of experiencing poverty on young people at school, including their attainment and their achievement. They are looking at what is happening across Scotland, inside and outside school to support school children experiencing poverty. What work helps them and what the barriers are to this work succeeding.

OPFS warmly welcomes the Committee’s inquiry. We are committed to working with government, partners and parents to address the root causes of poverty and disadvantage affecting so many single parents and their children.

Our Director, Satwat Rehman appeared in person at the Committee inquiry on May 2nd. View the hearing below or on Scottish Parliament TV Website.
