OPFS Briefing on the Child Poverty (Scotland) Bill
OPFS warmly welcomes the Child Poverty (Scotland) Bill. We are extremely pleased that the Bill contains a duty to eradicate child poverty and that there are clear and identifiable targets about when and how this should be achieved.
We particularly welcome the fact that the Bill proposes establishing four income based targets which will be measured after housing costs and that particular mention is made of single parent households. We believe that focusing on income-based targets in this legislation is the correct approach.
If you are a parent living in Scotland we would really appreciate your views on poverty and health inequalities. Please take the short survey. All views are confidential, we will not share your information with any other organisation.
