Potential impact of Brexit on single parents and OPFS

Brexit is set to impact all sectors in the UK, including the third sector. These are unprecedented times, and it’s impossible to know the full impact as Brexit has created a climate of uncertainty.

Marion Davis, Head of Policy and Strategy said:

“We are very concerned about the potential impact of Brexit on already struggling single parent families. Poverty rates for children living in single-parent families are at 54% ,twice as high as those living in couple families. Families, especially single parent families, on low incomes should not pay the price from of economic shocks caused by Brexit and government must take steps to protect them in their no-deal contingency planning.”
